Independent black metal band Profane Elegy has unveiled The Accuser, the final single from their forthcoming sophomore album Herezjarcha, due out January 30, 2026.
Originally formed in 2021 as a two-man studio project, Profane Elegy has since evolved into a full four-piece band spanning Pennsylvania and New Jersey. After igniting the live circuit in 2023—including a notable support slot for Dark Funeral—the band now sets its sights on their most ambitious work yet.
“The Accuser” embodies the spirit of Herezjarcha: unflinching, confrontational, and steeped in defiance. Drawing on the biblical portrayal of Satan as “the accuser of the brethren,” the track assumes the role of the eternal prosecutor, condemning hypocrisy and embracing damnation with conviction.
Blending black, death, doom, and progressive elements, often enriched with orchestral arrangements, Profane Elegy carve out a sound that is at once atmospheric, dynamic, and mercilessly heavy. Herezjarcha (meaning “arch-heretic”) represents the band’s most expansive statement to date: eight tracks bound together by a singular vision, moving seamlessly between mournful reflection and unhinged fury.
