Copenhagen-based metallers DEFECTO have unveiled their latest single Eternal Descent, taken from their upcoming studio album Echoes Of Isolation, out October 31, 2025 via Frontiers Music Srl. The new song arrives alongside an official music video, which you can watch here:
Frontman Nicklas Sonne describes the new single:
“‘Eternal Descent’ dives into the endless spiral of insomnia — where nights feel like prisons, thoughts race without mercy, and the line between dreams and reality slowly disappears.”
Formed in 2011 by Nicklas Sonne (vocals, guitars), Frederik Møller (guitars), and Thomas Bartholin (bass), later joined by Morten Gade Sørensen (drums), DEFECTO have carved their place in the Danish and international metal scene. Known for their blend of technical precision, melodic strength, and emotional intensity, they’ve taken the stage at major festivals like Copenhell and RockFest Finland, as well as shared stages with Metallica and Rammstein.
With three albums and two EPs already under their belt, DEFECTO now turn inward with Echoes Of Isolation — their most personal and conceptual record to date.
Musically, Echoes Of Isolation promises to deliver DEFECTO’s most cinematic and progressive statement yet, a blend of soaring melodies, intricate arrangements, and the band’s signature emotional weight. Fans of Metallica, Symphony X, and Evergrey will find much to explore in its depths.
