Season of Mist proudly welcomes THE VIRGOS to the roster.
Formed by vocalist/guitarist Andy Saba (Bad Seed, Harm’s Way, Nails) alongside Danni Crockett and Eli Gerrity, the Wilkes-Barre power trio fuse Sabbathian groove, Manowar-sized grandeur, and the swagger of Queens of the Stone Age into a blazing, heavy-metal revival built for the modern age.
“We decided it was time to let the apocalyptically loud horses of metal run free, and shine a light on every color of the Dark Rainbow of Metal”, says Saba.
Earlier this year, The Virgos released their third full-length, Lord Have Mercy, praised by Swim to the Sound as “a triumph in multiple heavy musical styles.” Drawing from melodic hardcore, stoner metal, goth rock, and cosmic doom, the record feels both familiar and completely unhinged, an intoxicating blast of psychedelic, medieval-minded heavy metal.
“The theme of Lord Have Mercy is that we missed out on the future”, Saba explains. “Utopia isn’t happening—we’re going backwards. Superstition, war, plagues, revolution… it’s the Dark Ages again. Medieval times call for medieval responses.”
